The First in the Industry | HIUV and Sunket Establish Authorized Agency Partnership for PVE+ Colored BIPV, Jointly Advancing Innovation in Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV)

Views: Date:2025-08-06

On August 6, 2025, at the "2025 Forum on Innovation in Building-Integrated Photovoltaics, Zero-Carbon Buildings, and Safety Standards for Distributed PV Power Plants," Shanghai HIUV New Materials Co., Ltd. (“HIUV”) and Wuxi Sunket New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (“Sunket”) officially signed an authorized agency agreement for PVE+ colored BIPV. This partnership marks the first collaboration of its kind and signifies a joint commitment to driving technological innovation and market expansion in the BIPV sector, injecting new momentum into the global application of renewable energy in buildings.

Innovative Breakthrough: PVE+ Colored BIPV Redefines Industry Standards

During the signing ceremony, HIUV highlighted the core focus of this collaboration—the innovative combination of PVE encapsulant film and colored film. As critical materials for BIPV module encapsulation, conventional PVB films are plagued by high costs, complex processing, and poor moisture resistance. Meanwhile, standard EVA films often fall short of safety requirements due to insufficient mechanical strength. HIUV’s PVE film overcomes these industry challenges through irreversible cross-linked molecular network formation. Compared to PVB, the PVE film exhibits a 120% improvement in high-temperature adhesion, and its thermal creep elongation performance is enhanced by 100 times, maintaining long-term stability even under humid and high-temperature conditions. Furthermore, the lamination process takes only 30 minutes—a 75% reduction in cycle time compared to PVB—significantly lowering production costs and enabling scalable manufacturing. This solution has successfully passed the CTC Falling Ball and Soft Body Impact Bag Tests and is actively involved in the formulation of industry standards, including the Technical Code for Glass Structure Engineering. It is now recognized as a new benchmark for safety standards in BIPV applications.

At the same time, HIUV’s colored encapsulant film breaks the limits of traditional modules with “high performance + high aesthetic appeal”. With a light transmittance of up to 85%10% to 25% higher than traditional ceramic frit solutions—it offers a wide range of vivid color options including gold, gray, red, and more, making it suitable for both glass and flexible substrates across diverse application scenarios. In terms of reliability, tests show that modules using high-saturation colored films exhibit excellent performance: maximum degradation of only 2.43% under PID (192h) and just 0.55% under HAST (96h) conditions. Furthermore, compared to ceramic frit, production costs are reduced by 50%, achieving the perfect balance between customization and cost-efficiency.

The combined application of PVE and colored encapsulant films achieves a dual breakthrough in BIPV modules: “Safety and Reliability + Aesthetic Customization”. By flexibly integrating PVE film and colored encapsulant film in the top and bottom layers of the module, this solution ensures both structural safety and distinctive visual appea, offering a new generation of BIPV solutions for commercial buildings, residential communities, and other architectural scenarios.

Strategic Alliance to Expand the Global BIPV Market

As a seasoned enterprise in the new energy sector, Sunket has, since its founding in 2012, established a fully integrated vertical industrial chain covering cell manufacturing, module encapsulation, system engineering, and energy product applications. With global facilities spanning over 500 mu (approximately 33 hectares), the company boasts an annual PV module capacity of 5GW and energy storage battery capacity of 1GWh. Its products are certified by ISO 9001, TUV, UL, and other international standards, and are exported to over 100 countries and regions. Sunket’s strengths in PV system integration and global distribution networks will strongly complement HIUV’s expertise in advanced materials technology. Under the newly signed agreement, Sunket will act as the authorized distributor of HIUV’s PVE+ colored BIPV products. Leveraging their respective resources in R&D, manufacturing, and market channels, the two companies will jointly explore both domestic and international BIPV markets, accelerating the large-scale application of innovative materials in net-zero buildings, distributed solar power stations, and other emerging scenarios.

Empowering Green Buildings and Leading Sustainable Industry Development

HIUV stated that the collaboration with Sunket marks a significant step in its continued commitment to the BIPV sector. Moving forward, HIUV will remain focused on technological innovation, continuously upgrading and evolving its photovoltaic encapsulation material solutions. Meanwhile, Sunket will leverage its global footprint and engineering expertise to help more buildings realize the multi-dimensional value of power generation, aesthetics, and safety. This agreement serves as a new starting point for both parties to collaborate across the value chain, jointly improving the BIPV ecosystem and contributing to the global energy transition and the achievement of carbon neutrality goals. Sunket also emphasized that HIUV’s PVE+ colored BIPV solution represents a disruptive breakthrough for the industry. Through close collaboration, both sides aim to accelerate market adoption of this cutting-edge technology and provide global customers with high-quality green building solutions, in line with Sunket’s mission of “Sharing and Surpassing.”

This partnership is not only a strategic synergy of technology and distribution, but also a testament to the innovative leadership of Chinese new energy enterprises in the global BIPV arena—setting a new benchmark for international cooperation in the industry.
